Hi all,
I work in tech in Dublin. I am considering moving to the United States, specifically in Seattle.
Apparently the only way to get a working visa for this is to have a job in hand and then have an employer who will sponsor you.
I have been looking at a lot of jobs on Linkedin and it seems like they all require you to have a visa already or to already be there in the US. On all the applications they ask if you are eligible to work or if you need a sponsorship and answering those instantly voids you.
Is there a better place to look or another way to try and find work there from abroad? I don't really see how its possible.

So, I’m moving to Ireland some time soon, I’ll be studying and working there, but I’m somehow worried about getting a job.
Here’s the situation, I’m a heavy bearded young man (not very good looking also) with long hair, kinda of a Gimli one, and here at home, ppl like me have a more difficult time getting jobs, cause, you know people/employers r stupid and have prejudice.
Here I’m a lawyer and I have a stable job, so I don’t need to give a s’ about ppl opinion.
That being said, in Ireland I’ll be the one looking for a job.
So, my question is: do Ireland’s employers care about that specific thing about possible employees physical appearance there? Should I be worried and cutting off my hair and beard so I won’t starve?
Ps: although my beard/hair r long and spiked, I take really good care of both. May be ugly to most, but they are definitely clean and presentable to all.

I am a French data engineer with a PhD working in the domain of public research in Germany for 5 years now. I am considering to relocate to the UK or Ireland and work as a data or cloud engineer there. What can I expect in term of remote jobs in both these countries? Is it realistic to expect to find a senior position with a reasonable salary while working completely or partially remotely? Did the coronavirus crisis changed things in this respect? I would greatly appreciate feedback from people in similar situations.

My (27f) husband (28m) refuses get a job, thinks forex will make us rich

This month makes six years of marriage and we have nothing to show for it. No home, no savings, no kids, no careers, nothing. I realize now that I am to blame, I have enabled his sporadic dreams, and also put my goals on hold to support him. Hubby hasn’t worked a regular job since 2019, first with doing e-commerce/Shopify which was doing pretty well until the pandemic hit. Then in 2020, he ventured into forex, investing almost 30k in the past 2 years with little return. I do commend him for his self motivation, trading is not easy, I’ve watched him take multiple classes on trading and he’s very confident in himself… but we’re so broke and I can’t live like this anymore. When we first got together he wanted to be an civil engineer, and then he dropped out of school, he doesn’t even talk about having a real profession anymore. he only cares to be “an entrepreneur” and looks down on me for going back to school and working my hospital job even though I am paying the bills and giving him $300-600 allowance every time I get paid. at bare minimum, he does find a way to pay our $700 rent each month between forex&DoorDash that’s only because he knows I hate where we live and if rent was my responsibility I would leave to my moms house. He swears he’s doing forex “for me, so he can make all the money and be a millionaire and give me the life I deserve” but honestly I’d be happy if he finished school and we lived a regular life. i found myself pregnant in January, and I was scared and sad because our living situation and livelihood was so crappy… but he was happy and optimistic because “he was doing well in the market and we would be millionaires by the following month”. Unfortunately, yet luckily, I had a miscarriage because now it is august and our situation hasn’t changed… but I am pregnant again and scared to even tell him in case I choose to ab**t bc I can’t afford to take care of him and a baby. What can I do to get him to see reality for what it is? To get a job, get back in school… Or should I leave?

I work a full time job but I'm looking to pick up ~2-4 hours p/week of online teaching for extra money. Any tips for freelance 'choose your hours' online employers? (I'm CELTA qualified, based in Ireland, 3+ years experience)

So I work a full time job not related to language teaching but recently got my CELTA and I'm looking to do a few hours on weekends or evenings for a little bit of extra spending money
From cursory glances I've seen most places are, understandably, looking for teachers for full time rolls. I'm honestly just looking for a couple of hours and an extra €50-100 per week. Kids, teens, adults, whatever. I've 3 years experience with all.
Any advice much appreciated

Best way to become a full time Forex day trader with a current full time 9-5 job?

My current M-F 9-5 job is physically demanding, having severe back issues for years (its getting worse) and would like a new career where i wont be damaging my body.
Im strongly considering Forex day trading as a new career. Im currently learning on youtube.
I dont wanna quit my current job cause i understand it takes time to make profits from trading. I was thinking to work thursday-saturday (part time) with my current company. And day trade monday-wednesday (hopefully those are great days to trade). Untill i improve and am consistent with Forex, eventually i want to quit my job.
What do you all think? Im sure im not the only one with this situation. How do you all do it?
